Slow Cooker Hamburger Goulash is the Perfect Family-Friendly Comfort Food!

We love Slow Cooker Ground Beef recipes. Some of our most popular recipes include The Best, Easy Slow Cooker Chili Recipe Ever and Slow Cooker Mexican Lasagna.

They’re family favorites – I know you’ll love them as much as we do!

SLOW COOKER HAMBURGER GOULASH

Slow Cooker Hamburger Goulash is definitely a favorite in our household. It’s warm, comforting, and filling, with just the right combination of spices and savory flavors. It takes almost no time to prep, and the slow cooker melds the flavors beautifully with no effort from you.

This recipe is a winner for everyone!

WHAT IS HAMBURGER GOULASH?

Goulash is a recipe that was developed hundreds of years ago in Hungary, and it is still a much-loved dish there. There, it is a type of soup or stew made with meat and vegetables, seasoned with paprika and other spices.

Over the years, the recipe has been “Americanized” in some ways. The American version of goulash is more of a casserole, a mix of wonderful comfort foods that are sure to please. Some things always stay the same about hamburger goulash, though. It is a dish that is comforting, filling, and just plain delicious!

It is also incredibly easy to make, so it is a perfect addition to your dinner rotation!

WHAT IF I HAVE A PICKY EATER TO PLEASE?

The great thing about Slow Cooker Hamburger Goulash is that it is filled with comfort foods that kids tend to love. It is also easy to make substitutions!

For example, if your kids aren’t big on chunky tomatoes or peppers, just substitute tomato puree or tomato sauce. You will still get the same rich flavor, and your kids won’t search for veggie pieces!

IS SLOW COOKER HAMBURGER GOULASH EASY TO FREEZE?

Slow Cooker Hamburger Goulash is very easy to freeze! I suggest freezing it without the pasta, as it is easy to cook and add in toward the end of the cooking process. That way, the texture of the pasta will not be affected. The cheese can be frozen, but I recommend freezing it in its own bag so that it can be added in on its own.

I hope your family loves hamburger goulash as much as mine does. Try it tonight!

Family Happening From Our Family of 9

Meet Colton.  He’s my newly turned 7 year old, ornery boy.  He loves to bug his sisters and play rough as much as he can.  He also loves to make crazy noises with his mouth, much to his sister’s dismay.  LOL.  He’s an active boy who is stuck in the middle of a bunch of girls. Sometimes we have to send him to a friend’s house to do some boy stuff, just to burn some extra energy.  Or, he’ll hang out with his college aged brother and his dad any chance he gets, too!

Thank you so much! As a special needs mommy these recipes have helped us so much.   I often am very busy with being a nurse for our child that I don't have time for making sure we get meals.  This allows me to do all my prep on the weekends, while my husband is home to help, and to cook during the week.  So grateful!

Sarah’s Freezer to Slow Cooker ebooks have been a fantastic addition to my meal plans.  They make meal planning easy and my family happy. I love the way each recipe is laid out, with a shopping list and ingredient prep list, along with cooking instructions. Sarah’s done all the hard work for me!  The recipes have used have all been delicious and easily adaptable to my family’s taste and the number of people I’m serving.

I purchased all of your freezer to slow cooker ebooks a month or so ago and I'm in love with this way of cooking.  I now have taken all 10 weeks of recipes and written them of my menu planner and then I repeated the 10 weeks and will continue to do so throughout the year.  My family of 5 adults and 1 child enjoy the meals that you have planned and I have cooked and I'm excited that the next time when that meal comes due up in the rotation I won't have to purchase anything but just pull it from the freezer.  Thank you so much

This makes my life so much easier. I'm a busy work at home/stay at home mom, wife, business woman and I feel like dinner is always the thing I just never get time to do. We have done like 15 of the crockpot recipes from Sarah and they are all very yummy. They get a thumbs up from my husband and kids every time. And there is always enough for my husband to take the left overs at least 2x per recipe. I have a family of 5, 2 adults, 21, 13, 16. So it makes plenty. Thank you Sarah.

I am a 59-year-old wife and mother of two grown children.  I love your idea of fixing a lot of meals ahead of time and then pulling one out, put it in the crockpot, and you have dinner when you get home.  I hate feeling rushed when I cook so Monday - Friday I use those crockpot meals and make enough that we have lunch the next day.  I take Sunday afternoon, fix up what I need for the week (I don't have a lot of freezer space so I do a week's worth at a time) and I'm done with it!  Saturdays I like to try new recipes from some of my cookbooks which I am finding I can freeze as well!  So you have shown me a whole new way to organize my time and still put a healthy meal on the table.  Thanks so much and I look forward to future blogs.
