Slow Cooker Beef & Broccoli
I love to order Beef & Broccoli whenever we go to our favorite Chinese restaurant. They do an amazing job with this dish – but honestly, that gets expensive! I still love to order it as a treat, but I decided that there has to be a way to make it at home.
I was right! My Slow Cooker Beef & Broccoli has everything you love – tender beef, tender-crisp broccoli, and that lovely, wonderful sauce. It’s also a fraction of the cost and incredibly easy to prepare!
DO I HAVE TO USE AN EXPENSIVE CUT OF BEEF?
Because this recipe is made in the slow cooker, you can use inexpensive cuts. That’s one thing I absolutely love about my slow cooker – the cheaper cuts of beef actually work better! The long, slow cooking process breaks down the connective tissue that makes those cuts tough in the first place, resulting in beef that is so darn tender you’ll wonder why you ever thought of paying more.
DOES IT MATTER IF I USE FRESH OR FROZEN BROCCOLI?
It really doesn’t matter – both will work well in this recipe! Frozen is often more convenient for a lot of families, but if you find a great price on fresh, feel free to use it!
WILL SLOW COOKER BEEF & BROCCOLI FREEZE WELL?
It definitely will! The broccoli will become more tender when it’s frozen, so if you like it to have some “snap,” you may want to leave that out and freeze everything else. It can easily be added in when you are ready to thaw, heat, and serve!

Slow Cooker Beef & Broccoli
Ingredients
- 4 pounds stew meat
- 2/3 cup soy sauce
- 1 cup beef broth
- 3 Tablespoons of Sweetener or 2 doonks of THM Stevia Extract Powder
- 1 ⁄4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 3 Teaspoons jarred minced garlic
- 1 ⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1 red pepper chopped
- 1 16 oz bag of frozen broccoli
Instructions
- Place all except last two ingredients in the slow cooker.
- Cook on low 5-6 hours.
- Stir in vegetables and cook about an hour longer.
Freezer Bag Instructions:
- Place ingredients except sesame seeds and vegetables in a freezer safe gallon bag.
- Place vegetables in a freezer safe bag.
- Label and lay flat to freeze.
- Remove from freezer the night before cooking
- Place contents of first bag into slow cooker.
- Cook on low 5-6 hours.
- Add vegetables and cook an hour longer.
