Hello, hello!  As you know, I’ve been doing the Renew Life Skinny Gut Ultimate Shakes to help me with my health and weight loss goals.  As time goes by, I keep experimenting with new recipes.  While, I still love my Chocolate Peanut Butter Shake, this time, I tried two of the recipes provided on the packaging on the Skinny Gut Shake mix.

The first one was the Greens & Apple Smoothie.  I’m a big fan of drinking your greens, as you often can’t even tell that there’s spinach (or kale) in your smoothie, but you still get the health benefits from it.

Greens & Apple Smoothie

  • 1 Serving of Renew Life Skinny Gut Vanilla Shake
  • 8 ounces of unsweetened almond milk
  • 1/4 Granny Smith apple, cut in chunks
  • 2 ounces plain yogurt (or kefir)
  • Small handful of spinach (or kale)

I mixed all of the ingredients into a blender, poured it into my glass and enjoyed the great taste!

Did I like it?  Yes.  Next time, I will add ice, as I tend to prefer my smoothies pretty cold, but I stuck it in the fridge to cool it down for a little while and it was perfect.  Isn’t it a pretty shade of green?

The next smoothie I tried was the Coconut Heaven smoothie, also listed in the brochure that is attached to the lid of the Skinny Gut Shake Mix.

Coconut Heaven Smoothie

  • 1 serving of Renew Life Skinny Gut Vanilla Shake  or Renew Life Skinny Gut Chocolate Shake
  • 8 ounces of unsweetened coconut milk
  • 1-2 tablespoons of coconut oil (or butter)
  • 5 or 6 ice cubes

Mix all ingredients in blender until nice and smooth.  Pour in a glass and enjoy!

This one, I liked even more than the first one.  I really love a coconut taste!  I made mine with vanilla, but I think having it with the chocolate flavor would be perfect, too.  The original recipe called for coconut butter, but our little town doesn’t have coconut butter, so I used the coconut oil I have in the house already.  I have been wanting to add more coconut oil to my diet, so this is the perfect way to do that!

I love how easy it is to grab a Skinny Gut Shake for breakfast or lunch and keep on moving.  I’ve been known to quickly throw it all into the blender and take it in the car with me to sip on my way to appointments.  When I’m in a hurry, it’s still very possible to get a nourishing meal in!

Have you tried Skinny Gut Shakes yet?  If so, have you tried either of these recipes yet?  How’d you like them?
