This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Cuties. All opinions are 100% mine.
We are a busy family. On a daily basis I find myself as the taxi driver for one of my 7 kids. Not only that, we live 1.5 hours away from a large city, so we often find ourselves in the van for our next shopping trip, doctor’s appointment or cousin birthday party.
Let’s face it though, modern technology makes it super easy to just hop in and leave, doesn’t it? We always have smooth roads. (Can you imagine how limited we’d be living in the 18th century?) We always have cell phones in case we have car problems. Plus, we’ve always got music or podcasts blaring in our ears, to help us pass the travel time.
One thing we don’t often have is healthy food options when we’re taking our kids here and there. That is, unless we plan ahead. If you’re anything like me, planning ahead does not come easily to you. I’m more of a lets grab it when we need it sort of girl (convenient stores and drive thru, oh my). But, we, as a family are desperately trying to enforce a little more healthy eating into our family’s lives.
That’s why I love to have and bring along Cuties.
If you’ve never heard of Cuties before, they are small little mandarin oranges that are easy to peel and even easier to eat. When my kids see me bring a bag of Cuties along, they are thrilled. Many times, they will grab for a Cutie before they grab for other non-healthy foods like candy and chips.
Last month, we took a trip to Silver Dollar City in Branson, MO and I packed a bag of Cuties. Then, this past week, we took a shopping trip to Tulsa and once again, I packed a bag of Cuties. They’re so awesome to have in the car, because even my 1 & 4 year old can peel it with ease. Just bring along a plastic bag to catch any peels you don’t want dropped.
This is a photo of my one year old peeling her Cuties.
Not only do I take them on car trips, I also like to leave a bowl of Cuties out around the house so that family members can grab one when they are in need of a snack. They make such great “quick breakfasts” that my teenage daughter grabbed a couple on her way out the door last week, because she knew she wouldn’t have time for a bigger meal.
Obviously we love them and I wanted to share about them with you, too. Now that I’m back on a more strict eating plan, any time I have a sweet tooth, I grab a Cutie and it helps to eliminate my cravings. They’re just sweet enough to help me out.
This week, we found the Cuties Song on YouTube and we had a great time letting the kids have a mini dance-a-thon after their snack time. They were really busting some moves and making me laugh! Click: Cuties Song, to get a free download!
We also got a good laugh out of the moves that some of the kids were showing on the Cuties Music Video. Here’s my son trying to imitate one of them. HaHa! He couldn’t quite figure it out, but he sure was cute, trying!
Have you tried Cuties before? Do you like them as much as we do?
