Today marks the end of Week 6. We are officially to the halfway point of my 12 week commitment. I am back down 1.8 pounds (after last week’s gain), making my total pounds lost 10 pounds! Yay! I’m not sure how though, because I’ve not been doing very well when it comes to sticking to my plan.
Announcement: At the end of this post, there will be a link up of healthy recipes!
The truth is, I’ve really been struggling with staying on my eating plan! There’s many times that I feel like giving up! I don’t want to do it and I’m not doing it very well. Life is stressful! Being away from home is hard when you’re trying to follow an eating plan (and I had to be away a lot this week). It’s even harder to find time to exercise when you’re a busy mom. The truth is, when I am failing, I’m usually trying to do it all in my own strength! Why do we do that to ourselves? God is the ONLY way that we can succeed. We must seek His face and know that we are walking in His will. If we don’t do that, then we may as well plan to fail. Sure, we can hang on for a while, but when flaming arrows start to fly in our direction, we duck and go back to the way things used to be.
We say we’re just coping with the day and we’ll get back to it tomorrow, but tomorrow never seems to come. Why do we always say we’re going to lose weight on another day? Why not today? This is something I’ve always done. It’s because you feel like you’ll be able to talk yourself into saying no to the bad foods and yes to exercise on a day other than today. You think in the future you’ll be strong…because you’ll be mentally prepared. You don’t feel like you’re strong today. But….unless you suddenly gain a big boost of courage, you keep putting it off until another day, another week, another month, another year and then years later, you’re wondering why you’re still wearing those big pants. You wonder why you’re so much heavier than you used to be. You keep gaining weight or yo-yo-ing and you keep feeling bad about yourself. Ladies, it’s time to STOP the pity party and it’s time to start taking action. WE can do this! God gives us all the strength that we need! He doesn’t call us to only do the easy things. He calls us to do hard things, too. Getting fit and healthy is hard! Losing weight is HARD! He will use our successes at losing weight as an amazing testimony of how He can work through our lives.
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me! Phillipians 4:13
I challenge you to seek Him several times throughout the day and to spend some time each day in His word. If you’d don’t know where to start, try doing a word study on Courage. Grab a concordance and look up several of the verses that are in the Bible that have the word courage in it and see how God uses courage as He teaches us in His Word. I’m praying that you will succeed in following the plan that God wants you to be on and I would appreciate it if you would be praying for me as well! God Bless you! Have a wonderful, successful week!
Now it’s time to link up your healthy recipes.
If you do link up, I’d appreciate a link in your post showing where you linked up.

Congrats on dropping 10 pounds! Some times the first steps seem to be the hardest. Once we get a momentum going, things do get easier. Little steps in the right direction WILL get us closer to our goal. Keep taking little steps! Only 6 weeks left….and I am down 6 lbs. I want to be in the 130s at the end of this 12 weeks! Gonna have to push HARD! haha

You're doing great Jeri Lynn. You have a lot less weight to lose than I do! I know, I have got to start pushing a lot harder now. I'm struggling a lot more here in the middle of the 12 weeks.
