Meet Baylee.
(This was taken on a college cruise to Mexico,
where they visited the Mayan ruins.)
He’s 19 years old and just started his Sophomore year of college. It’s a bittersweet time for us. While, I love that he’s completely capable of being a grown up, I do miss having him around more often. He’s been busy galavanting around with his college choir. Not only did they take a cruise to Mexico and sang for the passengers of the cruise, they’ve done many concerts and plan to sing for many different groups of people this year, too. Here he is, with several of his choir friends:
This year, when it was time to get him ready to go back to school, we totally procrastinated! I think it’s because I homeschool my other kids and we don’t start school until after Labor Day. His first day back to college was August 15th and it totally snuck up on me. It’s times like this that I’m so thankful that he is signed up for his own Amazon Prime Student account! Anything he needs shipped to him, will make it to him within 2 days. (Plus there’s a free 6 month trial…. details at the end of this post.)
Of course, Amazon has everything, but let me let you in on his most wanted items for college. We’ve been slowly checking these off of his list!
Baylee’s Back to College Essentials
a new Survivor Case for his iPhone 6S – He just got a new phone and needs to protect it…
A new pair of red Converse – His white ones were getting dingy and he wanted a new color.
A 10 foot iPhone Charging Cable – That way he can sit a little further from the outlet, when he’s in a pinch!
Textbooks – If we need a last minute textbook, Amazon Prime Student can get it to us in 2 days!
Binder
a Pencil Sharpener – Because, How do you do your paper homework if you can’t sharpen your pencil?
a new Laptop – Of course, you may just be doing your homework on a new computer, and not using that pencil. This was one of the first things we purchased for my son.
a backpack to hold your laptop computer and your school books.
a Flash Drive – That way you can use the college computers and still have what you need.
a Mini Fridge – Of course, he won’t really need this until he’s moved out, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t want it for his room. This would be really handy in dorm rooms though!
Bluetooth Headphones – Because you know how much college students like their music. And, they’ll have time between classes to enjoy it.
