Have you seen the new book by Crystal Paine (aka Money Saving Mom)? I’ve been listening to it this month on audio book. It is called The Money Saving Mom’s Budget. Do you want to know what it is she addresses before she even talks about budgeting? (and my favorite part of the book so far…..)
Tackling Clutter!
I have never thought about how having too much clutter in your home can wreck your budget. If you’re too disorganized, you’ll never be able to find what you’re needing. Then, you’ll run out and buy that thing that you already have…(and will most likely find later) and then all of a sudden you have 2 of those items, filling up your home even more. Sound familiar? We are the worst at this when it comes to tools and remodeling supplies. Seems we never know to put the items in the same place each time we’re done with them and when you’re in the middle of a big project, you don’t want to spend an hour looking for that item!
Clutter is definitely a problem in my life. I have a hard time wrapping my brain around what I should keep and what I should get rid of. I do not find it fun nor do I find it relieving to go through things. I find it mentally taxing. Crystal helps make this process easier and gives you a fail proof way to get the job done and even shows you how you can turn that clutter into cash if you so desire. She shares how being organized saves you money in the long run.
Of course, tackling clutter isn’t the main point in the book, but so far, it’s been a very helpful aspect! In addition to tackling clutter, she walks you through the different aspects of budgeting. From tracking your spending to setting up an envelope system for spending your money. She shows you creative places in your budget to save money, too, such as couponing and not paying retail.
I highly recommend this book and know that you will enjoy it, too. I love how it’s available as an audio book, paperback or even on Kindle. The audio version comes with some PDF’s that are very helpful!
