Are you one that likes to buy big presents for Father’s Day or just let the kids make their dad something special? Or maybe you do a little bit of both? Let the kids make something and you buy something? I’ve got mixed feelings. Father’s day is kind of like Mother’s Day and Valentine’s Day. One of those “holidays” where it’s nice to honor someone, but it kind of feels forced, like it was really amped up by businesses trying to get us to spend more money. It’s working, I know. 🙂
We always do something small, and it just depends on how creative I’m feeling that year. This year, I’m not feeling creative at all! Well, I’d love to be, but I spend so many hours in my chair nursing, that I’d better not take on a big, long project with the kids. It would just make a mess and never get done.
So, instead, I thought I’d share with you some of the projects we’ve done in the past.
1. Father’s Day Coupon Book: This is a free printable, but the expiration date says Father’s Day 2013. You could change that or black it out…..but I didn’t have time to find the file to change it for you. 🙁 So…use it if it helps you and if not, make your own!

2. You’re the Best Dad Hands Down Picture – We made these last year. I’m a sucker for handprint pictures!
3. Other Hand print Pictures – We did not do these, but they’re on my list of cute crafts that we’d like to do.
4. The Not so Perfect Father’s Day Photo – this one would have been cute if I had cooperative kids and if my camera skills were a little bit better, lol.
5. A HUGE Father’s Day Card Made with Candy – The daddy in our house LOVES candy, so this one was perfect for him. He absolutely loved it!
6. 10 Inexpensive Father’s Day Gifts – This is a post with more ideas that I wrote on another site, called Homemakers Challenge. There’s lots of good ideas in that one, too.
I hope you make the most of your weekend! Gift or no gifts, I’m sure you’ll take a moment to have your children tell their dads how much they love them!
