Today is Monday! Don’t you just love Mondays? I must admit, sometimes they seem scary to me. There is an overwhelming amount of work that needs to be done, running through my head on Mondays. Just make a list and get through it, one thing at a time. (Talking to myself here, lol!)
Did you all have a nice weekend? We had an eventful one. On Saturday, one of my good friend’s son got married. Yes, I’m old enough now to have friends whose kids are getting married. Scary, huh?! That means, it could happen to me in the next several years!! Even scarier. My son is 14, so hopefully it’ll be at least 5 or more years. At the wedding reception, my very pregnant (as in 9+ months pregnant) was dancing….and we joked about how she was going to cause herself to have the baby. While she didn’t have the baby that day, she did on the very next day. The baby was born on Mother’s Day. Her husband had to deliver the baby in the car because they couldn’t quite make it to the birthing center. Thankfully everything turned out fine…although I’m sure it wasn’t a very comfortable ride to the birthing center!
The wedding and reception we attended was adorable. At the reception, there was a photo booth where you could dress up with leis, or use chalkboard frames to write messages to the bride and groom. My kids were pleased as punch to have a place to get their pictures taken. They totally love posing for pictures. Here’s some pictures from the photo booth:
I loved the idea that the bride had, to make these frames. In fact, I hope to replicate it for some at home picture taking props in the near future. Until then, here’s another blooming branch craft to share with you. My girls made this for me for Mother’s Day, but I think it’s cute as decor any time in the spring! I love it when a craft is easy enough for a child to do!
Budding Branch Spring Decor Tutorial
The last post that I shared, was a blooming branch framed picture. The same day, we tried our hand at another kind of blooming branch, still using that tissue paper. I think it turned out cute. It was hard to get a good picture to show off it’s awesomeness, but…hopefully you get the idea.
Supplies:
- Small Branch
- Vase
- Pink Tissue Paper
- Pencil
- Hot Glue gun or craft glue
- Scissors
You start by cutting 1 to 2″ squares out of your tissue paper. Then, you wrap it around the end of your pencil and twist the end. Once you get lots of those, you’re ready to start gluing them on to your branches. You could also use a craft glue, I just like the hot glue gun because it sticks quickly and it’s a little less messy. Stick it in a vase and put it out for display.
The fun thing about this craft is that it is inexpensive, so it won’t hurt you to have it out for a few weeks and then pitch it when you’re ready to change things up.
