Christmas Tree Paper Craft for Kids
We had 3 extra kids in the house yesterday, so I was looking for ways to keep them busy with something Christmas-y. We managed to bake Gingerbread cookies AND we made these cute little Christmas trees. They were super happy to get to break out the paints and glue! I don’t blame them. These are adorable! “Make a Christmas Tree” – Paper Craft for Kids Supplies: Red Construction
Candy & Marshmallow Snowman – an Easy Food Craft
My Mother-in-Law gave one of my kids this marshmallow snowman last weekend and I thought it was so cute, I just had to share it with you. These would make adorable gifts to give to your friends. You know, the ones you send the plates of cookies to! What You Need: 3 Large Marshmallows 2 Skittles Twizzler Rope (the one where you can pull the strands apart) 1 Hershey’s Kiss
Enjoying Christmas at Silver Dollar City
I shared yesterday about the amazing Gingerbread Houses that we saw while in Branson, Missouri. Today I’d love to tell you a little about our trip to the local theme park there in Branson called Silver Dollar City. Beware though, this post is picture heavy! I have been going to Silver Dollar City since I was a little girl. I have loved it enough to continue taking my
Amazing Christmas Decorations & Gingerbread Houses
Last week, our family spent the week on a winter, Christmas-y vacation in Branson, Missouri. When we’re in Branson in December, one of our favorite places to stop is Chateau on the Lake to view their Christmas decorations. Have you ever been there? It sits right on Table Rock Lake near the dam. When the Chateau first bought their decorations, they spent $300,000 on them! Their gingerbread houses are
Simple Clutter-Free Stocking Stuffers
The following is a guest post from Stephani of The Cheapskate Cook I am far too old to act like this on Christmas Eve, and yet I consistently do. I go to bed excited. I sleep fitfully, and even before I had a toddler who woke me up before dawn, there is only one day out of the year I am almost guaranteed to greet the rising sun. The
Simple, Easy, Cheap Dinner: Cheesy Steak Fries
One of the menu ideas in Simplified Dinners is a baked potato bar. It’s a filling dinner and can also be a great way to use up leftovers: a bit of ham, a bit of beef, a bit of cheese, a bit of sour cream. When I make chili, if there are leftovers, but not enough leftovers to make a second meal, I freeze it to use on top of
Get Ready For the Holidays with a Flatout FlatBread Pizza Party
Have you decorated for Christmas yet? I usually try to decorate the weekend after Thanksgiving, but this time, things have been a little bit crazier than usual. I kept telling the kids….we don’t decorate until the living area is clean enough to decorate. We kept dealing with illness and stress, so we didn’t officially get it done until a few days after Thanksgiving. But when we did, we decided to

Week 12 of Get Healthy & Fit: The END (for now)
Wow…..what a crazy, rough 12 weeks I’ve had. I started out doing awesome, losing 6 pounds the first week and another 5 pounds in the weeks beyond that. But then…. life got in the way. I kept trying to keep my head above water, but I ended up giving in. I didn’t completely give in, but I didn’t continue losing weight and exercising like I had planned to do.
Design Your Own Wooden Block Christmas Ornaments
I love wood working! I don’t have nearly enough time to mess around in the sawdust, but I absolutely love seeing what I can do with a piece of wood. Naturally, when it was time for me to plan the craft for our local girls’ Bright Lights group, I chose something using a piece of wood! In our group, we have girls as young as 7 and occasionally a girl
The Doll Every Girl Would Love to Have!
I have 4 daughters. We LOVE dolls in this house! I can’t remember a day in the past several months (or years for that matter) that one of my daughters wasn’t playing with a baby doll. I often catch a glimpse of them pushing a baby around in a stroller or feeding them in the high chair while they’re playing throughout the day. When we’re in stores, they take notice of
