I love having a Kindle to tote all my books around on! There is never a lack of things to read as long as I can remember to keep it charged and ready. Recently, when the Ultimate Homemaking eBook sale was going on, I obtained a lot more books for my little reader. Now, when I’m waiting at stoplights, waiting at appointments or picking up kids, I will always have something to keep my mind active and entertained. That is, if I can keep the kids that are with me from needing to ask me questions. 🙂 I tend to not read very much fiction, so this list is full of nonfiction. I hope you find something useful!
10 e-Books on my Kindle
iBlog – This is a book that I’m reading right now. I have been known to devour and read anything that is blog related. I authored one of the chapters in this book and while I plan to skip my chapter (since I know exactly what it says, lol), I’m seriously excited about all the nuggets of gold in this book to help bloggers grow their following as well as helps with the business side of things. Recently, while I was at a doctor’s appointment, I pulled out my Kindle while I was in the waiting room, just to glean a little more. Yes, I do know many of the things that are shared about in the book, but I’m still finding bits and pieces that I can put to good use. I’m totally enjoying it.
Crock On – You know me and my love for crockpots. This book has healthy versions of recipes, allowing your family to use the crockpot AND eat more whole foods. I think this will be a hit for us!
How to Have Your Cake & Eat it, Too – I was perusing this book to try to get a feel for it. I was trying to decide if it would make the cut for my reading list and if it was something that I could recommend to you. Funny though, I couldn’t stop reading! LOL In the first chapter, she was describing herself and it sounded just like me! Basically, the book is about how to be a successful in all aspects of your life as a stay at home/work at home mom. For me, blogging and interacting with other bloggers is a passion of mine and I could easily let it take over my life. I’m also full of so many ideas, I could never do them all. Especially if I want to feed my family, have a tidy house and homeschool the children. But, the author has shared her process of how she’s able to stay on track and get it all done. I’m excited to see if her ideas could work for me.
Hula Hoop Girl: Finding Your Center While Keeping Your Momentum – I love the analogy. Your life responsibilities are like hula hoops swinging around your body. You are the one keeping them spinning, but some of us have way too many of them on and spinning. This book actually gives you the permission to slow down and gives you some helpful hints on why and how you should!
Refresh, Reuse, Repurpose – I love taking something old and making it into something new. This ebook is all about how to do that with clothing! Different things you can make out of old clothing. Have you ever seen the people who take men’s dress shirts and turn them into an adorable little girls’ dress? This has those kinds of ideas in it. Gotta read it for some fun ideas that my 13 year old daughter and I can do together!
Love Like Him: Learning to Love Like Jesus – Do you ever feel like you struggle with showing the same kind of love that Jesus would show? I know I do. This is an 8 week Bible study that promises to get you digging into the Word, showing you what the Bible tells us about Jesus’ love.
Not a DIY Diva – Many of you probably don’t realize this about me, but I started this website, with the intent of making it a DIY blog. I love building and crafting things. But, I discovered that I didn’t really have that much time to take on enough projects to fill a blog up with. So….that isn’t the main focus of my site any more. But, I still love all things DIY and hope to start working on more projects and I do plan to share them with you here as I get them done. In fact, I’ve got a bench that needs to be completed out in our building. It’ll be beautiful! SO….this book really interests me because it walks you through how to take the perfectionism out of your projects and gives you some great DIY tips along the way. That sounds like my kind of book! Perfectionism is poison.
One Bite at a Time: 52 Projects to Make Life Simpler – You may be noticing a theme here. I’m yearning for a simpler life. I’ll be happy to hear what Tsh of The Simple Mom has to say about that. She has 52 projects that you can pick from to work through.
100 Pound Loser – Since I’m on my own weight loss journey with Shaklee 180, I am really interested to hear how other people have lost the weight. I have about 70 more pounds I’d like to lose, so I have a feeling that her book will at least cheer me on, if not give me some helpful insight.
31 Days to Clean – Basically, I want to read this book because when I first started blogging, it was on every single blog I read. It was crazy how many blogs were advertising this book! I was literally seeing it everywhere! And….I’m a messy, so maybe she’ll have some genius idea to make me a “not-messy”. (Or, maybe I’d have to have brain surgery for that to happen.) Either way, I’m looking forward to hearing her approach and seeing if any of her ideas and tactics will work in my life. I love how she’s integrated a Biblical approach throughout the book!
Have you read any of these? Which one sparks an interest for you?
