Stop Procrastinating 15 Minutes at a Time – My Goals

Today, January 2nd, is the day that we begin working on our goals together!  You see, I’m a procrastinator.  I tend to put things off until the last minute.  There’s lots of reasons for that, but my plan in the year 2013 is to be more INTENTIONAL in all that I do.

One of the ways that I plan to do this is by working together with you all!   We are going to have a working Facebook chat.

What does this mean?

We are meeting on the Sidetracked Sarah Facebook page from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Central time.  When we get there.  We’re going to chat (by posting on my wall and answering each other’s posts) for about 15 minutes and then we’re going to work on a project in our homes for 15 minutes.  We’ll continue this schedule for 2 hours.  Today is the first time I’ve ever hosted something like this, so we may decide we need to adjust our chat time a bit.  We’ll tweak it as we see fit….but…the goal is to hang out with some people with similar goals AND to get some work done.  Sound fun?  I hope you can join us!  We’re going to do this EVERY WEDNESDAY until further notice, so if you can’t make it today, maybe you can next week!  (If you’d like an email reminding you about future chats, go to this post and fill out the form).

My Goals (the ones I can get done in 15 minute, bite sized pieces)

Here’s my bite sized goals.  I’ll go ahead and list more than I can do in the chat today….just so that I have more to work on throughout the week.  I’m not picking my normal every day chores that I would work on throughout the week.  I’m picking chores that I’ve been neglecting and need some regular attention.

1.  Do my 15 minute T-tapp Exercise Video

2.  Clean & Declutter the bathtub and it’s shelves.

3.  Organize one drawer in the bathroom

4.  Clean Out & Organize the Refrigerator (not a thorough job, just a quick remove the old food and organize so I can find my stuff job)

5.  Organize & Wipe out one drawer in the kitchen.

6.  Put away things on top of the Dryer and wipe it down.

7.  Go through sippy cup lids and throw away unneeded ones.

8.  Sweep Cobwebs from ceilings and corners of house, then dust book shelves.

9.  Find 30 things to get rid of.

10.  Plan 1 child’s school work for next week.

Keep in mind, a lot of mine are chores, but yours don’t have to be.  Just pick something that you have been procrastinating on, and run with it.  I hope you’ll join us at the party.  If you can’t, I’ll still keep you posted on how I did on my goals.  I’d love to hear how you’re doing on your goals as well.  Take a minute to leave me a comment telling me your plans and accomplishments!

Thank you so much! As a special needs mommy these recipes have helped us so much.   I often am very busy with being a nurse for our child that I don't have time for making sure we get meals.  This allows me to do all my prep on the weekends, while my husband is home to help, and to cook during the week.  So grateful!

Sarah’s Freezer to Slow Cooker ebooks have been a fantastic addition to my meal plans.  They make meal planning easy and my family happy. I love the way each recipe is laid out, with a shopping list and ingredient prep list, along with cooking instructions. Sarah’s done all the hard work for me!  The recipes have used have all been delicious and easily adaptable to my family’s taste and the number of people I’m serving.

I purchased all of your freezer to slow cooker ebooks a month or so ago and I'm in love with this way of cooking.  I now have taken all 10 weeks of recipes and written them of my menu planner and then I repeated the 10 weeks and will continue to do so throughout the year.  My family of 5 adults and 1 child enjoy the meals that you have planned and I have cooked and I'm excited that the next time when that meal comes due up in the rotation I won't have to purchase anything but just pull it from the freezer.  Thank you so much

This makes my life so much easier. I'm a busy work at home/stay at home mom, wife, business woman and I feel like dinner is always the thing I just never get time to do. We have done like 15 of the crockpot recipes from Sarah and they are all very yummy. They get a thumbs up from my husband and kids every time. And there is always enough for my husband to take the left overs at least 2x per recipe. I have a family of 5, 2 adults, 21, 13, 16. So it makes plenty. Thank you Sarah.

I am a 59-year-old wife and mother of two grown children.  I love your idea of fixing a lot of meals ahead of time and then pulling one out, put it in the crockpot, and you have dinner when you get home.  I hate feeling rushed when I cook so Monday - Friday I use those crockpot meals and make enough that we have lunch the next day.  I take Sunday afternoon, fix up what I need for the week (I don't have a lot of freezer space so I do a week's worth at a time) and I'm done with it!  Saturdays I like to try new recipes from some of my cookbooks which I am finding I can freeze as well!  So you have shown me a whole new way to organize my time and still put a healthy meal on the table.  Thanks so much and I look forward to future blogs.
