We love camping. Several years ago, we bought our pop up camper sight unseen on Ebay. We drove the 12 hours to Michigan to pick it up and enjoyed our very first camping vacation using it. That was back when we only had 4 kids. Now we have 7 kids and this past weekend, we all crammed into that pop up for another weekend. We had set up a tent for the big kids, but their friends didn’t end up coming like they had originally hoped, so we still managed to fit our whole family in this camper.
I bet you didn’t know they make pop up campers to sleep 9 did you? 🙂 Well, technically they don’t (at least I don’t think), but we get creative. 3 girls sleep long ways on the king sized bed; my husband, the baby and I sleep on the queen sized bed; the 2 & 5 year old on one of the table beds; and my teenage son on the larger table bed. All in all, it worked, except I didn’t get much sleep from all the coughing fits they were having. That’s a whole different story though.
So…this time, I knew we were going to have S’mores and thought it may be fun to have a snack to eat at the campsite, that didn’t require campfire, too. That’s when I saw my box of Golden Grahams on the table and thought…..trail mix!

Golden Grahams Cereal
mini marshmallows
Chocolate chips
Salted Peanuts
Directions:
Mix 6 cups of Golden Grahams cereal, jar of peanuts, 3/4 of a bag of miniature marshmallows and 3/4 of a bag of chocolate chips together in a large bowl. Pour in gallon size ziplock bag and take it with you on your camping trip. Be sure to keep it in the top of the ice chest so that the chocolate chips don’t melt too badly.
Note: Honestly, I just did it by what looked right. Just pour them together until the mix looks good to you and you’ll be set. The above measurements are guesstimates.
I normally don’t like eating marshmallows unless they’re melted on campfire S’mores, but….I actually liked them in this mix. My 2 year old though, I think he wanted to eat this whole entire bag! Don’t worry, we didn’t let him!!
