It’s that time during the Christmas season where I pull out my stash of gifts and figure out who else I need to buy for. Since we’re going on a little mini vacation soon, I figured that I needed to get my list ready so that we could finish up our shopping while we’re away. After all, a good part of the activities on our trip will be the shopping! I’m lucky to have married a man who likes shopping almost as much as I do.
Grandma came and got the kids tonight, so we had some spare time to do our sorting of the presents out in the main part of the house. Mr. Sidetracked was surprised at what I already had in the closet inventory. I normally try to start buying stuff up for the smaller children at garage sales in the summer, so my inventory had been growing. The garage sales really help us to stretch our dollars, plus the children get some cool stuff that they probably wouldn’t have gotten otherwise. I’ve also been shopping the Black Friday sales as well as some online stores, utilizing sales whenever I can! All in all, we’re not doing too bad in the gift department, but I still have plenty to buy. We buy for 18 children (including our 6) and 9 adults, so that definitely keeps us hopping.
In order to not confuse myself this year, I decided to make an inventory sheet where I could list everything that I already have and who it is going to. I plan to keep it in my purse so that I can refer to it while I’m out shopping. I already have it all filled out and now I won’t be shopping blind! If you think it would help you, feel free to print it here. Here is a preview of it:
