My Final Results on Shaklee 180™

So….today is the day!  The final day that I am in the Shaklee 180™ blogger program.  It has been 6 months!  I remember thinking that 6 months would go by so slowly, but really, it zoomed by and I can’t believe that we’re done with the journey.  Of course, I’ll never be done.  Losing weight and keeping it off will be a life long journey for me!

The past month and a half have been the most challenging part of the program for me.  Do you want to know why?

Of course you do!

I found out in the middle of July that we’re expecting our 7th baby!  While babies are definitely a blessing and we’re super excited to have another child to love on, when I first found out, I thought…. oh no?!  I’m in the middle of this weight loss thing with Shaklee.  I don’t want to quit!!  But then, I started researching it.  I read that you can still use the shakes and meal replacement bars while you’re pregnant, but you’re not actively supposed to be trying to lose weight.  You’re using the shakes and smoothies to help keep you in a good calorie range.  Not gaining a bunch of weight is definitely the goal.  So… I decided I’d still fulfill my commitment with Shaklee.  After all, they’ve done amazing things for me and I love everything about the Shaklee 180™ program.

At first, I decided that I would carry on as normal and just not say anything about my pregnancy.  That worked OK at first, but I forgot how early I begin showing.  My tummy, which is already a problem area for me, just decides that it remembers being pregnant and begins to go back to that place as fast as it can.  So then, I decided I’m going to have to explain myself just a little.  🙂

I did continue eating the meal bars and the shakes, but I found that I got sick to my stomach very easily, so I was a little hit and miss with them, depending on how I felt.  Yes, welcome to pregnancy, Sarah!  🙂  I know I’ve done this before many times, but it’s always a shock in the beginning!

[*Other things to note about using Shaklee 180 while pregnant:  You cannot use the Metabollic boost.  You can use the Energizing Tea, as long as your doctor is OK with you having caffeine.  Refer to the FAQ for more information. ]

So, I said all of that to say, that I did not progress any more in the month of August.  🙂  But… I’m still going to share my overall results with you while on Shaklee 180.  The results were amazing!  I love everything about Shaklee so far!

Are you ready to hear the results?

Before & After Shaklee 180

Total weight lost on Shaklee 180™  was 27 pounds!

Total inches lost on Shaklee 180™ was 42.25″!

The measurements were taken from the following places (keep in mind that my tummy is very problematic for me, so I measured above and below the belly button as well as at the belly button):

  • Tummy (2″ above belly button):  -5.25″
  • Tummy (2″ below belly button):  -9.5″  (amazing result here!)
  • Tummy @ Belly button:  -5.25″
  • Bust:  -4.25 (bras started fitting better!)
  • RU Thigh:  -2.75″
  • RL Thigh:  -.75″
  • LU Thigh:   – 3.25″
  • LL Thigh:  -1.75″
  • ribcage:  -2″
  • neck:  -1″
  • l. calf:  -.25″
  • r. calf:  -.75″
  • l. arm:  -1.25″
  • r. arm:  -1.25″
  • Hips:  -3″

The Shaklee approved inches to report are a much smaller sampling than I was keeping track of.  They want us to report the following:

Arms, Waist, Hips, Bust

That total is equal to 15″.

My Transformation

Before & After Face Shots

When I began, I was super scared of giving up my eating habits.  I wanted to lose weight, but didn’t want to put in the work to do so.  I bit the bullet and began changing my habits one at a time.  I lowered my consumption of processed foods and sugars and increased my consumption of vegetables and fruits.  I started logging my food which was a huge eye opener for me!

I began seeing what huge results small changes could make.  I began exercising and really started enjoying it!  It began to become a lifestyle!

As time went on, I found that I was losing motivation.  The newness wore off, but thankfully, I had the right tools at my fingertips.  Knowing what I was eating for breakfast and lunch were a huge help to me!  As was the support of the other bloggers in the blogger program.  We found that we all struggled with motivation around the same time.  As I learned to stay motivated, saying no to a candy bar in the grocery aisle was a no brainer.  Why would I want to mess with my results?

Finding out I was pregnant was definitely a blow to the progress I was seeing, but I am so thankful I made the changes that I did!  This means I start the pregnancy 27 pounds lighter!  This means that I start with a whole lot less inches, too!  This also means that I have months of brain training in place so that I can make wiser choices while pregnant!  Shaklee 180™  has helped me to retrain my brain!  Because I have not yet reached my final goal, I will continue to carry on, making healthier choices, not overeating and regularly exercising.  This program has taught me that I really can lose the weight if I just put forth the effort.  It has taught me to believe in myself and for that, I am forever grateful!

What You Should Know About Shaklee 180™

This is an awesome, doable plan!  If you’re struggling with losing weight and keeping it off, consider giving Shaklee 180™  a try.  I have outlined the 10 Things I Love About Shaklee 180™ in a vlog that I posted yesterday.  I know it sounds cheesy, but for a weight loss program, I love absolutely everything about it!  Do I wish I could eat what I want and not gain weight?  Sure, that would be fun, but since I’ve proved to myself that I can’t, I appreciate the fact that Shaklee 180™  is easy to follow, takes the thinking out of it for me, is encouraging, and is delicious!  Go watch the video though…it’ll tell you even more!

    Congratulations on the new baby!!!

As long as you have the ok from your doctor, you can still exercise, too! So, hopefully, after the baby comes, it won't be as hard to get back into an exercise routine.

Congratulations on your weight loss and the new baby on the way. You will find that starting a pregnancy lighter and in better shape will help you better control your weight gain and allow for an easier delivery. Of my 6 pregnancies, the ones that I stated lighter and in better physical condition were easier overall.

Congratulations on the success! You look amazing! How exciting to be pregnant too! I also wanted to tell you I'm trying some of your crockpot meals in the following weeks. So far, we've had the chicken tacos and they were a huge success! My family, even the 5 year old, loved it.

We love the chicken tacos, too. Hmmm, I don't have dinner planned tonight, maybe that's what I'll throw in real fast. I really need to go shopping again! 🙂

Thank you so much! As a special needs mommy these recipes have helped us so much.   I often am very busy with being a nurse for our child that I don't have time for making sure we get meals.  This allows me to do all my prep on the weekends, while my husband is home to help, and to cook during the week.  So grateful!

Sarah’s Freezer to Slow Cooker ebooks have been a fantastic addition to my meal plans.  They make meal planning easy and my family happy. I love the way each recipe is laid out, with a shopping list and ingredient prep list, along with cooking instructions. Sarah’s done all the hard work for me!  The recipes have used have all been delicious and easily adaptable to my family’s taste and the number of people I’m serving.

I purchased all of your freezer to slow cooker ebooks a month or so ago and I'm in love with this way of cooking.  I now have taken all 10 weeks of recipes and written them of my menu planner and then I repeated the 10 weeks and will continue to do so throughout the year.  My family of 5 adults and 1 child enjoy the meals that you have planned and I have cooked and I'm excited that the next time when that meal comes due up in the rotation I won't have to purchase anything but just pull it from the freezer.  Thank you so much

This makes my life so much easier. I'm a busy work at home/stay at home mom, wife, business woman and I feel like dinner is always the thing I just never get time to do. We have done like 15 of the crockpot recipes from Sarah and they are all very yummy. They get a thumbs up from my husband and kids every time. And there is always enough for my husband to take the left overs at least 2x per recipe. I have a family of 5, 2 adults, 21, 13, 16. So it makes plenty. Thank you Sarah.

I am a 59-year-old wife and mother of two grown children.  I love your idea of fixing a lot of meals ahead of time and then pulling one out, put it in the crockpot, and you have dinner when you get home.  I hate feeling rushed when I cook so Monday - Friday I use those crockpot meals and make enough that we have lunch the next day.  I take Sunday afternoon, fix up what I need for the week (I don't have a lot of freezer space so I do a week's worth at a time) and I'm done with it!  Saturdays I like to try new recipes from some of my cookbooks which I am finding I can freeze as well!  So you have shown me a whole new way to organize my time and still put a healthy meal on the table.  Thanks so much and I look forward to future blogs.
