My Homemade Pumpkin Pie Spice Recipe Is So Easy and Versatile, and It Is So Much Better Than the Store-Bought Blend!
I love finding ways to save money and add flavor to my recipes. Making your own spice blends is a great way to do that, and it’s much easier than you might think!
You may have tried my Homemade Taco Seasoning (which we use all the time); just in time for holiday baking, I wanted to share my Homemade Pumpkin Pie Spice recipe!
HOMEMADE PUMPKIN PIE SPICE RECIPE
There are so many delicious things that can be made with Pumpkin Pie Spice, especially this time of year. There’s the obvious, of course, and our holiday table wouldn’t be complete without it!
CAN I DOUBLE OR TRIPLE THE RECIPE?
You certainly can! Just be sure to keep it in an airtight container. That way, you’ll have fresh Pumpkin Pie Spice ready to go, whenever you need it!
One tip – if you’re using it right away, try using freshly grated nutmeg. It seems like such a small thing, but the difference is amazing!
HOW CAN I USE HOMEMADE PUMPKIN PIE SPICE?
The possibilities are just about endless! You can use Pumpkin Pie Spice in the obvious, of course (and our holiday table would be incomplete without an amazing pumpkin pie!), but there are so many other options as well.
You can use Pumpkin Pie Spice in cookies (it’s incredible in gingersnaps and even snickerdoodles), soups, breads and muffins, sauces, and more.
WILL HOMEMADE PUMPKIN PIE SPICE STAY FRESH?
If you keep this spice blend in an airtight container (like a small Mason jar), it will stay fresh for several weeks. However, no spice blend will stay fresh for months or years on end – that’s why you want to make it in the quantities that you’ll need!
If you plan on doing a lot of baking or cooking with it, feel free to double or triple the recipe. Otherwise, make up a batch to keep on hand, and when you run out, mix up another. You’ll always have delicious Homemade Pumpkin Pie Spice on hand!
