We have been eyeing Father’s Day crafts for a while on Pinterest. I knew this was one of the first crafts that we’d try out because it’s both easy AND extremely cute, too!
We started out thinking we wanted to have child handprints with messy paint. We did try it….as you can see here:
But I could tell it wasn’t the look we were going for on the paper. I wanted it to look a little more “professional”, if you can call it that.
Of course, everyone already had their hands dirty, so we couldn’t resist taking more pictures:
I realized that what I really wanted to do, was to trace their hands and cut them out of paper.
I went and found some cute scrapbook paper with handprints all over it (in my scrapbooking stash), and this time, I only traced 2 hands. One of my 1 year old and one of my 4 year old. We glued them to a piece of construction paper like this:
I then, printed out my saying:
You’re the Best Dad Ever, Hands Down
We cut it out and then glued it onto a piece of yellow background paper to make it “pop” and then glued the whole thing underneath the shorter hand.
Here is our finished project:
Isn’t it cute? Now, to think…we wouldn’t have even had to get our hands dirty for this one! Oh well…
Don’t forget to come back tomorrow for another fun craft for Father’s Day!
