Our birthday party was a success! We used to have large birthday bashes for the children in our younger years, but as we get older and have more children, we realize that we don’t need such a big production. It only ends up being stressful and chaotic! Instead, we have a gathering at our home with close relatives (which can end up being pretty big!). My now 12 year old, shares a birthday with my parents’ anniversary, so we had them over for dinner. I had the roast thawed out and ready to go this morning, had my 9 year old daughter peel the potatoes and carrots and threw it all in the slow cooker. At about 5:00, I started to wonder why the house didn’t smell more like roast. I went and checked on it and it was set to Warm. So rather than cooking our roast, I was warming it all day. I quickly put it in the oven, still in the removable crock and cooked it for 2 hours and it was good to go. We just ate a little later than I was originally planning! It was still delicious!
If you’ve been reading my Christmas Crafts series, so far, thank you so much! Here is one of the easiest crafts yet, as long as you can find pine cones somewhere. We were lucky and found them across the street from my parents’ house. They have such a nice shape!
Supplies:
Pine cones
Glitter Glue
Ribbon
Directions:
Put glitter glue on the tips of a pine cone. Make it look as fancy and shiny as child wants. Hang ribbon from the top and hang as decoration on Christmas tree or around house.
