I think I’ve told you this before, but…..
I am a self proclaimed procrastinator.
I often put off until the last minute, anything that requires much thinking or effort. I intend to work on this little character flaw of mine, in the year 2013 and I’d like to invite you to join me!
We moms always have something to work on don’t we? I know that I have shelves, cabinets and drawers just dying for me to organize them. Here’s my idea. Each Wednesday, I will post my weekly goals here on the blog. I will aim to post goals that I can get done in 15 minute chunks of time. I may or may not get to all of them. It all depends on how my week flows. On Wednesday afternoons at 3:00 p.m. Central Time, anyone who can join us, will meet on my Facebook wall. We’ll get together and chat a bit….and then…..we’ll go and do a 15 minute project. We’ll be working and chatting, working and chatting. 15 minutes on, 15 minutes off. For 2 whole hours!! What do you all think? Are you game to give it a try? I sure hope so, as I’ll be lonely without you!
One of the biggest things I learned from Flylady was that you can do anything for 15 minutes. Do you believe that? OK, I guess maybe not anything, because I know that I can’t hold my breath for 15 minutes, but the point is….that it is truly amazing how much you can get done in that amount of time!
Years ago, my sister and I decided to clean house together, even though we lived a couple hours away from each other. We’d agree to work in the same room and then after 15 minutes, we’d call and tell what we had accomplished. I know, that may sound cheesy to you, but it was totally motivating to know that someone else was working…even though we weren’t working on it in the same house, let alone the same town. We got a verbal pat on the back and a reward of getting to chat with someone we enjoyed chatting with.
Sometimes, when our houses were really trashed with toys and clutter everywhere, we even got the kids involved and told them that they were racing their cousins. It was so comical seeing them all super-motivated, going as fast as they could. When the 15 minutes was up, they would beg us to tell them who won. We’d share what the other family got done and who we thought won, and the race would start over again. We would then let them take turns calling one of their cousins to share what they’d accomplished. It was great!
Because of that experience, I wanted to invite you all to join me in this virtual “stop procrastinating” party! Even if you’re not a typical procrastinator like I am, I bet that you still have some projects to tackle. I”d absolutely love to have you join in on the fun!
So here’s your official invitation:
Until then……be thinking about what goals you can be working on accomplishing that you can get done in 15 minute increments. If the Facebook chats won’t work for you, please take a moment to share about your goals and what you’re accomplishing here in the comments each week. I still want to hear from you!

I would love to do this! I can make the 2nd but after that I am not available on Wednesdays. I could do the Monday afternoons or the Thursday mornings. What an awesome idea. I do so much better when I am accountable to someone. Thank you for offering this.
