Octopus Apple – Fun Foods for Kids

Have you made any fun snacks for your kids lately?  This one is super simple.

What you need:

  • Half a green apple
  • Green Grapes cut in half
  • Mini Marshmallows
  • 1 Strawberry, cut a sliver in the shape of a mouth & dots for the eyes
  • Small dabs of peanut butter for “glue”

It’s important to cut the grapes in half so that they don’t roll around.  I originally saw this in the Family Fun magazine, but they used chocolate chips for the mouth and eyeballs.  I didn’t have any chocolate chips, so I improvised…with a little more healthy thing (minus the marshmallows anyway).

We ate this tonight as our before bed snack.  The girls thought it was awesome!  We even changed his mood….

This is very cute and nice & easy. Why is it that kids are always more likely to eat something when it looks this fun?

I know. Kids are so funny sometimes! :) It was super easy. I have a feeling any time we have apples and grapes in the house, my kids will request this!
