April marks the 2nd month that I’ve been actively trying to lose weight on the Shaklee 180 program. It’s definitely been a lot more difficult for me this month. I’ve had so many distractions. I’ve also had way too many opportunities to eat out. I’m not making very wise choices when it comes to food. But, despite all of that, I’m still down a few pounds. It’s definitely not the awesome results that I had last month, but as long as my weight is moving in the right direction, I figure I’ll be happy. Especially considering how badly I’ve messed up this month! (I will share more about my actual weight loss at the end of the month in my vlog).
The truth is, life is full of ups and downs. We can choose to run and hide or we can choose to face our struggles head on. I must admit that I’ve done a little of both. I’m ashamed to say that I’ve done more hiding than I have been being strong.
One thing that I’ve noticed about myself is that I tend to get bored easily. I tend to think I can do anything and then after a month or two, that feeling wears out and I quit thinking so highly of myself. Well…thank goodness, I’ve got all of the Shaklee 180 bloggers to back me up. They do some virtual hand holding when I share with them that I’ve succumbed to stress eating again. They get that it’s frustrating to not see the scale move quickly. They know it’s hard to find the time to exercise as a busy mother. And yet, they’re all still there, plugging away with me. Celebrating each others’ successes and encouraging each other through our failures.
When asked for their healthy recipes, a few of my fellow Shaklee 180 blogger friends shared some of the recipes that they have on their own websites. Let me tell you, they ALL look delicious! I was sitting here late at night looking at all the pictures and my tummy started grumbling and my mouth started watering. Yes, I still love food! I guess I won’t ever get away from that!
7 Recipes from Shaklee180 Bloggers like me:
Chicken & Kale Stuffed Portobello Mushrooms – I love mushrooms and this recipe looks like I would never know I’m trying to eat light!
Tomato Spinach Stuffed Portobellos – Spinach and mushrooms? Mmmm. A match made in heaven for this girl!
Cilantro Lime Tilapia with Quinoa – We don’t make nearly enough fish in our family. This recipe looks delicious!
Easy Chicken Fajitas – I love how simple this recipe is. Sometimes we just don’t have time to cook everything from scratch. Using precooked chicken helps eliminate the problem and helps you get dinner on in 15 minutes!
Super Easy Parmesan Kale Chips – Wow, this is totally easy to do! If you’re looking for some healthy chips, you should check this out.
Red Lentil Stew – It’s Lentil Soup with extra veggies! YUM!
Raspberry Frozen Yogurt – This recipe uses Stevia to sweeten it. Looks delicious!!
If you try one of these recipes let me know what you thought. In the mean time, if you’re in a weight loss program and struggling to stay on track like I have been, it’s time for a little pep talk. You can do this! I know it’s hard, but everything in life worth pursuing usually is. Just remember,
If at first you don’t succeed, try ,try again!
