  • 5 lbs yellow potatoes
  • 1.25 cups chicken broth
  • 3 Tbsp minced garlic
  • 3 tbsp butter divided
  • 1 8 oz block cream cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup real bacon bits
  • Dried Parsley or sliced green onions and/or chives for garnish


  • Peel & Chop potatoes.
  • Place chopped potatoes in the bottom of the Instant Pot.
  • Pour chicken broth over the top, followed by minced garlic, salt and 1 tbsp of butter.
  • Close lid, close valve and set to cook on Manual/Pressure Cook, high pressure for 8 minutes.
  • Natural release (or quick release)
  • Mash potatoes and then add cheese, cream cheese, the rest of the butter and milk.
  • Continue mashing until all ingredients are mixed together nicely OR use mixer to beat until smooth.
  • Garnish with parsley or sliced green onions.
