Instant Pot Cubed Steak & Gravy

This Instant Pot Cubed Steak recipe is a delicious recipe to make in your Instant Pot Pressure Cooker. The meat is so tender and it tastes great with gravy over the top.

Equipment

  • Pressure Cooker

Ingredients

  • pounds cube steak enough for at least one patty per person in your family
  • 1 packet of onion soup mix
  • 1 packet of Au Jus Seasoning packet
  • 2.5 cups of water
  • 1 tbsp steak sauce
  • 2 tbsp corn starch

Instructions

  • Place meat in Instant Pot
  • Mix together onion soup mix, Au Jus seasoning packet, steak sauce and 2.5 cups of water.
  • Pour over the top of the meat.
  • Cook on manual, high pressure for 10 minutes.
  • Natural release the pressure. (Natural release will keep the meat from getting tough)
  • All the meat will be stuck together and not looking amazing yet.....
  • Take meat out and put it on a plate.
  • Stir in 2 tablespoons of corn starch to thicken the gravy and cook on saute for about 5 more minutes until gravy thickens a bit.
  • Pour gravy over the meat and serve.

Notes

I know I said this was an Instant Pot recipe, but, in all reality, this recipe would be super simple in the slow cooker, too!  You would place everything in the slow cooker, except for the cornstarch.  Cook it on low for 6-8 hours.  Remove meat.  Stir in 2 tablespoons of corn starch, to thicken gravy.  Then, serve!  It's an amazingly simple dish to prepare, with great taste, too!
