- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 ½ medium yellow onion chopped
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic
- 1 15 oz can tomato sauce
- 1 8 oz can tomato sauce
- ¾ cup water
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1.5 pounds lean ground beef
- ¾ cup long grain rice
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
Saute ¾ cup of onion and 1 teaspoon of minced garlic in vegetable oil using the Saute function on your Instant Pot for about 5 minutes, until onions are translucent.
Stir in tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce and water. Simmer.
In a bowl, combine ground beef, rice, salt, pepper and the remaining onions and 1 teaspoon of minced garlic.
Roll meat mixture into 1 ½ inch size balls. (approximately 18)
Place meatballs in the pot, in a single layer (if possible). Spoon sauce over the top of each meatball.
Place the lid on the Instant Pot, close the valve and cook for 15 minutes on Manual, high pressure.
Quick release the pressure and serve.
