Have you decorated for Christmas yet? I usually try to decorate the weekend after Thanksgiving, but this time, things have been a little bit crazier than usual. I kept telling the kids….we don’t decorate until the living area is clean enough to decorate. We kept dealing with illness and stress, so we didn’t officially get it done until a few days after Thanksgiving. But when we did, we decided to throw a little extra fun in by having a pizza party, complete with Flatout Flatbread Thin Crust Artisan Pizzas. Have you tried them yet?
I hadn’t, but I’m so glad that I did. We love their taste. They come in several different flavors. We got Spicy Italian, Heritage Wheat and Rustic White. Personally, my favorite was Spicy Italian, but that’s just because I love a little bit of spice!
Each person in our family likes different things on their pizza, so our pizza recipe varied by person. I decided to lay out a whole bunch of toppings and let each person make their own variety.
Make Your Own Pizzas
- Canadian Bacon
- Pepperoni
- Bacon Bits
- Tomato
- Olives
- Mushrooms
- Green Pepper
- Onions
- Pineapple
- Jarred Spaghetti Sauce
Put all the toppings out on the table and let each person build their own pizzas. I love it when we make pizzas this way because I can have all the veggies that I want on them. My husband loves it because he doesn’t have to have those mushrooms. We all win!

Something I learned:
Be sure to put your flatbreads in the oven first for the 4-5 minutes that the package recommends. If you don’t, once the toppings are placed on and it’s cooked, it will stick to the pan. If you do follow the directions, they slide right out! Don’t ask me how I learned that lesson.
But I thought you were decorating for Christmas?
Oh yeah…this was the first year that the toddler “helped” us. You should see how he likes to undecorate the tree. 🙂 The rule this year was all breakable ornaments go up high.
He’s probably trying to run off with one right now in the picture below!
My 7 year old was thankful to not be sick any more while decorating! (above)
All in all, a good time was had by everyone. We had good food and fun Christmas decorating! I think they did a great job!
