This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Dollar General. All opinions are 100% mine.
I must admit. I’m not a wonderful housekeeper. I’m better at spot cleaning than thorough cleaning. I’m good at finding a whole lot of other things to keep me busy rather than a bunch of dirty walls and windows. Because of that, when I finally do get around to Spring Cleaning it’s often looking pretty bad. Part of that is because I’m a very nonobservant person. I tend to look past mess and dirt and not notice it until it’s worse than it should be.
We all have our favorite cleaning products and overall, I’m too cheap to spend much money on very many name brand ones. So, when I was given the opportunity to try out some Dollar General brand cleaning products, I figured, “Why Not?!”
We go to Dollar General all the time as it’s only about a mile from our house. On my last trip in, I decided to try the following:
- Dishwasher Detergent
- Dishwashing Liquid
- Dusting Spray
- Super Erasers (Like Magic Eraser)
- Bleach Spray
- Window Spray
- Soap Pads
- Disinfectant Wipes
Each of these products were at least a dollar cheaper than their name brand competitors. A great savings if you ask me!
I normally use the dishwasher detergent on a regular basis, so I already knew that it does a great job.
Today, I tried the Super Erasers…..
These are just like Magic Erasers. I found that the door leading from my kitchen to my laundry room had all sorts of dirty handprints on it. It’s time to make them magicall disappear!

Then, I tried the Disinfectant Wipes…….
The outside of my fridge has been really dirty. I had a soda explode inside of the freezer and it leaked down out the water dispense (which still isn’t hooked up). The disinfectant wipes are a perfect job for this, as it should be a quick wipe down!

Awwww, much better! Squeaky Clean!
Last, but not least, I tried the Window Cleaner on this dirty old mirror.
Before:
(It can be hard to see just how bad this mirror was, but I tried to get it at an angle where you can)
After:
Wow, much better! It was so clean my kids thought it looked like you could put your hand through it. 🙂
Each of these products did just as well, if not better than their name brand counterparts. I don’t see any reason for me to spend the extra dough on the name brands!
Tomorrow sounds like a great day to start cleaning the bathroom. The sink will require the use of some soap pads and Bleach Spray for sure!
Don’t forget to visit Dollar General for all of your Spring Cleaning Needs!
