Do you have an over abundance of leaves? Yeah….I think we all do. Don’t you just wish there was something we could do with them besides mulch them or rake and bag them? I found one thing! I ran across this craft the other day and set it aside for another day. This morning, I announced to my kids that they could go pick out a leaf or two and we’d make fun creatures out of them. They excitedly ran to the yard to find the best leaf for the job! Of course, it doesn’t quite take care of our leaf problem, but it gives us some festive fall decorations that the children were a part of!
Supplies:
- Leaves in fun shapes
- Paper
- Glue
- Pen or Markers
Directions:
- Figure out what creature you’d like to make and pick a leaf that would help you make that creature.
- Place the leaves on the paper how you think you’d like them to be.
- Draw the rest of the creature around the leaves that you placed.
- Glue the leaf in place
- Hang up for a fun, fall decoration!
We made faces, a turtle and a butterfly. You could easily make birds or many other animals, too!
