Our Annual Easter Celebration
Remember last week when I shared about our bad picture experience? Well, Easter rolled around and we were all dressed up and ready to go to church, so of course we had to get some pictures. We got some good ones and some not so good ones. We were in a hurry to get to my sister’s house nearly 2 hours away, so we were just trying to hurry along.
We broke one of the big rules! Don’t take pictures in really bright light. Then everyone squints! Here’s the best of the ones that we got……
I’d still like to do a real, live photo shoot on a day when we have nothing else to do (ha…is that possible?!), but for now, this is it!
Here’s a collage of some of our best photos of each of us that day…..
Each year, we have a tradition of getting together with “the cousins”. This is my oldest sister’s family. They have 6 kids and we have 6 kids. The kids have a ton of fun, when we all get together. Soon after we got there, all the little girls gathered in the bathroom to bathe a baby doll. 9 of the 12 kids that were there are girls, so we have lots of girly activities!
We had our annual Easter Egg hunt. I was super worried about ticks because the grass was a bit high. Thankfully our family had none!
I love how all the older kids still have a great time searching for Easter eggs!
After our Easter Egg Hunt, it was time for the calves to get fed their bottles. We don’t have any animals on our small spot in the country, so my kids thought it was awesome to get a chance to feed the babies while visiting their aunt and uncle’s house!
Once the cows were fed, we headed in to eat supper. For dessert we shared our famous Coconut Cream Cake. It’s become a tradition.
I hope you had a blessed Resurrection Sunday as you remembered the sacrifice our Savior made for us. It is because He lives, I can face tomorrow!
Come back tomorrow for a giveaway of the That Works For Me ebook that I was featured in!

Well, I didn't think about it. Glad you got me covered!
Hi Sarah!
I'm pretty sure we make the same coconut cake… cool whip for frosting right? Nice to meet you sister! ~ Blessings, Amy Alves
Yes, it is. Do you pour cream of coconut over the cake to make it nice and moist? I need to post the actual recipe for the rest of my readers!
I will post it very soon. I had meant to do it so you all could have it at your Easter festivities. I will try to do it this week though!
Very cute post, thanks for sharing! Can't wait to see the Coconut Cream Cake recipe!! Yum! :O)
It's on the plan for this week! Thanks for the encouragement!
YES, Sarah I do! I knew it was the same… it's a family favorite here! Have a great day!!!

I enjoy your site very much & read it every day. Thought the pics were great, esp the 1 of all 8 of you. Who took the pic? Tried to comment on Facebook but still don't understand all this back & forth.
I wanted to ask if you can tell me where I might find a book teaching math concepts to a 3rd grader?
Hopefully we will get up to your area before all your kids are grown. *S* They are all growing so fast & I haven't even seen Colt in person yet. Take care & keep up the good work.
aww, thanks Barbara! Grandpa took the one of the 8 of us. He did a great job! I have some of him with me and the kids, too. I saw your comment on Facebook and answered it there, too. I'll email you, that may be easier!
Looks like a ton of family fun!! And you've got a mighty fine-looking family!!!
awww, thanks Kasey! We did have a ton of fun!
