Easy T-shirt Fabric Flower

I was trying to make some hair clips with ribbon and fabric glue tonight.  It didn’t go so well.  I think I bought the wrong kind of glue because I just ended up a glued on, sticky mess!  Do you ever have projects like that?  Yeah….not fun!  That led me to try this project instead!

Here’s what you need:

  • An old t-shirt (or some kind of t-shirt fabric)
  • Scissors
  • Hot Glue gun
Cut off about an inch wide strip of fabric off of the bottom of your shirt.
Mine ended up being about 30 inches long.  Fold in half (making it 15 inches long) and twist it like this:

You can make your twist as loose or tight as you want.  You may want to play around with it to get the right look.

Once it’s all twisted, start rolling your fabric into a circle, gluing with the hot glue gun as  you go.  When you’re finished, it will look like this:

You can use this to embellish a head band, hair clip, t-shirt or scarf.  I plan to use it on a head band.  I’ll show it to you as soon as I get it done!
